GERMAN FOR MEDICAL DOCTORS

• The course is designed for foreign physicians who wish to live and work in Germany and who need to demonstrate general and specialist German language skills at level C-1.
  
  

• The admission requirement
  for participation in the intensive course is a passed B2 exam (TELC, Goethe – a mere certificate of attendance does not suffice!). Prospective students who have not yet completed a B2 course are recommended to attend the regular language courses first. Participants who already have previous knowledge at level C1 can also join an existing class; if a C1 certificate can be presented, the technical language course and the exam preparation can be booked independently.

  • acquisition of general language skills level C1
  • medical vocabulary
  • doctor - patient conversation (anamnesis)
  • professional discussion: doctor - doctor conversation, e.g., during patient handover, medical report / doctor's letter
  • anamnesis documentation
  • conversations with staff in the hospital
  • patient information
  • focused exam preparation based on pertinent situations / tasks

   

• DURATION 
  280 teaching units of 45 minutes each (3 months)
  
  

• CLASS TIMES

  Monday - Friday, 8:50 - 12:15 a.m. (general language classes)

  In the third month additionally 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. (medical language classes)
  
  

• FEES
  

  € 1,580 = general german classes € 370 per Month (x3 month) + medical language classes € 470 (1 month)

  + € 190 examination fee (optional)
  
  

• PARTICIPANTS
  

  7 - 15 for general language training

  6 - 8 for medical language training

• Be sure to inquire with the medical association of your federal state whether the certificate "TELC Deutsch B2/C1 Medizin" is recognized for the licensing (Approbation) and medical German examination prior to enrolling. In the state of Baden-Württemberg, the medical German language examination must be taken with the Medical Association in Freiburg - our course will also prepare you for this exam.
